Grand Opening

Lisanne wrote about the Grand Opening of YES in Hide Market:

On the 9th September YES had their opening day party.

They were celebrating the move to Old Market in the centre of Bristol.

The new building is spacious and nice.

Chris and Jo organised a party and Ruth made a delicious madeira cake.

A there was a lot of people and some special guests were invited.

The Lord Mayor shook our hands.  Tony Robinson who is the patron of YES, cut the ribbon to open the door for the first time. He made a speech which was very funny.

Everyone was very happy and we all had a wonderful time.

The Youth Education Service (YES) is a Bristol charity providing group and one-on-one learning support for adults and young people. We assist students with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities, and offer a range of courses (including our popular Dyslexia Support Course) to help our students improve their essential skills. With our uniquely personalised and nonjudgemental approach to literacy (reading, writing, spelling) and numeracy (maths, counting), our students feel welcome, valued, and respected every step of the way.
